We run a GWAS Cox model, with the first 10 PCs, age, age 2 , sex, period of infection and patient series as covariates and we found one variant (rs117011822) associated with survival at P -value < 5.0 × 10 −8 (genome-wide significance level) and another one (rs7208524) nearly significant ( P -value = 5.19 × 10 −8 ).
Interestingly, the OS genome-wide analysis identified 10 nearly significant variants (p value=6.3× 10 −8 ) on chromosome 2, in complete LD with each other ( figure 2 ).
Results Among pediatric subjects with WGS data, we identified a significant intronic variant in EDIL3 (rs149378, P = 1.9 × 10 −8 ) and a nearly significant intronic variant in LHX4 (rs79008224, P = 7.2 × 10 −8 ).
In addition, a large 1.4 Mb region at chromosome 17q21.31, coextensive with a known inversion polymorphism, 42 harbored 101 nearly significant SNPs (all P 's<10 −6 ; top SNP, rs916888, P =8.18 × 10 −8 ).

For AMD, we identified one genome-wide significant locus in 18q22.2, rs12956753 (OR = 1.71, p = 3.76 × 10 −8 ), and another nearly significant locus in 15q14, rs138597498 (OR = 1.75, p = 1.02 × 10 −7 ), located near the genes DOK6 and DPH6 , respectively ( Figure 1 B).
