In detail, standardized molded spacers appeared to have a significantly higher weighted mean of total mechanical complication rates (WM: 37.2% ± SD = 21.6%) when compared to standardized preformed spacers (WM: 13.8% ± SD = 5.2%, p = 0.039), while no significant difference was found between molded spacers and manually shaped spacers, despite a strong trend of higher complication rates observed for molded spacers (Table 2 ).
