Table 4 shows that three values of DE were taken prior to PS as well as prior to extubation; among these, it was observed that the third value recorded prior to PS,1.61±0.35, was strongly significant with a P value <0.001,followed by the first value recorded prior to PS, 1.68±0.41, which was considered moderately significant with a P value of 0.018.
