This outcome, whose individual components did not reach statistical significance, occurred in 35.5% of patients on treatment vs. 38.5% in the placebo group [relative risk (RR), 0.90; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.82–0.98; P = 0.02]; 16.4% of patients on treatment and 17.5% of patients in the placebo arm died of cardiovascular causes (RR, 0.93; 95% CI, 0.81 to 1.06); 27.4% of patients on treatment and 29.6% in the placebo group were hospitalized for HF (RR, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.81–1.00).
