The message also slightly decreased the size of respondents’ myside sharing both when the news stories were true [congruence × condition in Experiment 7: ß = −0.08 (−0.17, 0.00), P = 0.049] and fake [congruence × condition in Experiment 8: ß = −0.09 (−0.18, −0.00), P = 0.055], although the latter decrease was only marginally significant.
