A pilot study of 80 severe COVID-19 patients who received a 72-h infusion of 1 ng/kg/min PGI 2 showed a trend towards a beneficial effect, although outcomes such as “days alive without mechanical ventilation” were not significantly different from placebo [ 111 ].
