When the prevalence of asthma was estimated only among patients with COVID-19 ( Table 2 ), a significant trend was observed, both in children and adults, with decreases in the asthma prevalence rates in waves II (odds ratio [OR], 0.74; P = .008; OR, 0.73; P < .001, respectively), III (OR, 0.62; P < .001; OR, 0.58; P < .001, respectively), IV (OR, 0.68; P < .001; OR, 0.70; P < .001, respectively) and V (OR, 0.53; P < .001; OR, 0.62; P < .001, respectively) compared with those in wave I ( Table 2 ).
