We found a protective effect of heterozygote at the HLA class II locus (OR = 0.91, 95% CI = 0.86–0.96, P = 1.56 × 10 −3 , P adj = 0.018) with a significant trend in effect sizes ( P trend = 0.011) on head and neck cancer.
