They showed that the use of SGLT2 inhibitors was associated with a trend of lower event rates for SCD compared to other antidiabetic drugs after adjustment for common risk factors of SCD, but that this association did not reach statistical significance (hazard ratio: 0.62; 95% confidence interval: 0.38–1.01), while the hazard ratio for all-cause mortality for the use of SGLT2 inhibitors vs. other anti-diabetic drugs was significantly low (hazard ratio: 0.43; 95% confidence interval: 0.39–0.48).
