A trend that was approaching significance showed that patients during a nonsurge time period had an average longer time period between mastectomy and definitive reconstruction compared with patients during a surge period (261.17 days ± 157.81 vs. 178.14 days± 24.35, p = 0.059), as demonstrated in Figure 2 .
