Since serum clozapine levels are influenced by smoking with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) present in tobacco smoke being a strong inducer of the clozapine metabolizer cytochrome P4501A, 8 a sensitivity analysis considering smokers ( N = 41, median dose 280 mg) and nonsmokers ( N = 74, median dose 130 mg) separately was applied, indicating a trend ( E = 0.81, P = .090) and a slightly significant ( E = 0.94, P = .047) effect of the dose on weight change, respectively, probably due to the low sample size.
