Indeed, genetic deletion of CtBP2 in the liver increased the expression of PPARα target genes (1.2 ∼ 1.4-fold increase), reflecting the liberation of PPARα from CtBP2-mediated repression, although the difference did not reach statistical significance for Cpt1a gene ( p = 0.13) ( Figs. 5 A and S4 ).
