For men, there was a decreasing trend in the events in the Southern and Southeastern regions. 33 A study assessing 166 514 coronary angioplasty procedures to treat IHD performed in 180 hospitals between 2005 and 2008 has reported mean in-hospital mortality of 2.3% (minimum of 0%, maximum of 11.4%), which varied according to the geographic region, being lowest in the Southeastern (2.0%) and highest in the Northern region (3.6%).
