Although this patient series failed to demonstrate demographic or presenting characteristics that are predictive of relief success, there were absolute trends in male patients and patients with greater BMI gaining better initial relief from EBP although these findings did not reach statistical significance in the difference in volume injected during EBP by sex and BMI (t-test p=0.79 and p=0.41, respectively).
