This study indicated that in the diabetic population, after adjusting for confounding factors, the risk of CKD increased significantly with increasing quartiles of HOMA-IR (OR: 1.37 (1.07–1.74)), while in the nondiabetic population, after adjusting for confounding factors, there was also an increasing trend of CKD risk with increasing HOMA-IR levels, OR = 1.03, but it did not reach statistical significance (94% CI: 0.89–1.20).
