Due to the significant involvement of the characteristic chemical bonds in the quinoid resonance structure (e.g., a clear trend for the collective bond length changes for bonds 1–4 in Table 1 ), one would expect a blueshift of this quinoidal stretching mode around 1541–1554 cm −1 , and the mode frequency should follow the order of –H (R 2 ) > –H (R 1 ) > –Me (R 1 and R 2 ).
