The incidence of postoperative complications was similar between the two groups: 11.15% (3090/27,707) in the PTGBD group compared with 9.06% (65,167/719,103) in the EC, but the result did not reach statistical significance (RR 0.77 95% CI [0.44 to 1.34]; I 2 = 99%; p = 0.36).
