A sensitivity analysis of studies that recruited patients primarily presenting with acute MI showed a trend towards higher re-infarction rates (2.55% vs. 2.03%; OR 1.25, 95% CI 0.98–1.59; p = 0.07, I 2 = 0), with a significant reduction in major bleeding events (2.15% vs. 3.40%; OR 0.55, 95% CI 0.36–0.84; p = 0.005, I 2 = 64) (NNT 67) associated with the short-term DAPT strategy at the 1-year follow-up (ESM Fig. 4).
