While this effect may be significant for short TEs, our relatively long TEs (i.e., > 73 ms) and diffusion times (Δ = 22 ms, δ = 8 ms) used in this study (compared to the small intra-axonal space where the restricted diffusion process takes place) indicate that a mono-exponential signal relaxation is expected for the spins inside each axon.
