Similarly, a higher platelets count was associated with a reduction in the risk of death in men (OS-HR for increase of 50 × 10 3 units: 0.88, 95% CI 0.78–1.00) but not in women (1.07, 95% CI 0.92–1.25) although this interaction did not reach statistical significance (adjusted P for heterogeneity = 0.09).
