At the same time, immunofluorescence staining also revealed a statistically significant increase in periostin expression of basal keratinocytes in the lesional and previously-lesional healed epidermis, and it was nearly significant in the non-lesional skin in contrast to healthy skin (Fig. 2 b,c) based on relative fluorescence intensity (RFI).
