Although the probiotics group’s mean score decreased from baseline with a mean change over 12 weeks in reaction time (RT) on correct trials in ms (− 3.9 ± 96.56) and the standard deviation of RT (variability) (− 7.3 ± 134.7) compared with those of the control group (0.58 ± 130.13 and 1.31 ± 115.06, respectively), this difference did not reach statistical significance.
