An epidemiological survey involving 5210 ambulatory men aged > 40 years from 30 provinces and autonomous regions of China showed an ED prevalence of 40.56% [ 3 ], and the proportion of pED patients to ED patients also showed a trend toward a higher percentage [ 4 ]. pED is usually caused by unidentified psychological factors, which may include anxiety or depression, lack of sexuality education, psychological trauma of a sexual nature, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, and previous unsuccessful sexual intercourse experiences [ 5 , 6 ].
