In a retrospective study by Xu et al [ 37 ], the LBP after PELD showed a trend of deterioration with the time extending in patients with MCs type I signals, but none required fusion surgery later for persistent back pain after PELD, which may indicate that MCs type I is not a contraindication to PELD.
