Significant impact on anxiety was seen in the neurological conditions ( SMD = -0.26 [-0.38, -0.14], p<0.001) and ‘other’ subgroups ( SMD = -0.34 [-0.50, -0.18], p<0.001), but the cardiovascular and cancer subgroups did not reach statistical significance (cardiovascular: SMD = 0.03 [-0.10, 0.15], p = 0.89, I 2 = 0%; cancer: SMD = -0.18 [-0.39, 0.03], p = 0.08, I 2 = 50%) ( S11 Appendix ).
