The evaluation of inflammatory cytokine gene expression revealed an aberrant expression pattern that did not reveal a clear trend of increase or decrease; however, the minimum 1-h treatment was sufficient to induce a significant increase in their expression, which was followed either by a further increase later or a gradual decrease ( Figure S7D ).
