Placental H 2 S production from L-Cys also showed a trend to decrease in fructose-fed dams (70.78 ± 8.23, 65.72 ± 6.21, 72.32 ± 8.82 mmol/g protein for control, fructose-, and glucose-fed dams, respectively), without reaching statistical significance, in comparison to control rats.
