After splitting the data in two to study the admitted and discharged patients separately, the results did not reach statistical significance (Q4 OR 1.23, p = 0.064 and 1.79, p = 0.084, respectively), even though the odds ratio for 10-day mortality among discharged patients increased linearly in each EDOR quartile.
