Our finding that those living with a child aged 5 years or younger experienced a negative trend in both SRQ-20 indicators between 2018 and 2020, compared to those not living with children under five years of age, lends some support to the argument that the pandemic has tended to place renewed stress pressures and mental health burden on caregivers [ 16 ].
