While the relationship between CYP activity and sex did not reach statistical significance, it is possible that there is a trend toward greater variability in the female participants; this could be due to induction/inhibition associated with greater medication use in females in our cohort, which reflects a wider disparity in prescription medication use ( Desirée et al., 2013 ).
