A higher mean level of 8-OHdG was found in the severe zinc deficiency group (6.91 ± 3.88 ng/mL) in rheumatoid arthritis patients when compared to normal zinc levels (5.29 ± 2.84 ng/mL), and the difference was statistically significant (p = 0.04); however, this difference in mean 8-OHdG in healthy individuals group did not reach statistical significance (6.13 ± 3.5 ng/mL vs. 5.01 ± 2.7 ng/mL) (p = 0.08).
