A randomized phase three trial comparing the impact of AZA on the survival of AML patients versus conventional care regimens (CCREs), including IC, LDAC, and best supportive care, has shown that the median OS was prolonged in TP53 mut patients treated with AZA compared to those treated with CCREs (7.2 months versus 2.4 months, respectively); however, this result did not reach statistical significance [ 28 ].
