There was a trend suggestive of increased mortality; however, it did not reach statistical significance in patients with ruptured chordae tendineae (OR 2.21, 95% CI 0.67–7.27, p = 0.19) or ruptured papillary muscle (OR 1.49, 95% CI 0.91–2.44, p = 0.11).
