Furthermore, the results suggested an increasing trend in the incidence of neonatal herpes in Europe in contrast to the decreasing trend of HSV-2 seroprevalence, perhaps reflecting the increasing trend of genital herpes caused by HSV-1 in this region, and increasing maternal age associated with higher HSV-2 seroprevalence [ 15 ].

The sentences
The HSV-1 seroprevalence was stable up to 40 years (70.0 and 68.3%, respectively), with an increase to 86.1%, but this difference did not reach statistical significance.
