At 8 weeks of age, both groups met sufficient vitamin D status with trending higher levels of 25OHD, despite the lower intake of vitamin D in the HMDF group, although this did not reach statistical significance, probably due to the low number of VLBW infants who remained only on human milk without any supplementation of premature formula.
