There was a trend towards a greater prevalence for diabetes but this did not reach statistical significance (diabetes; 36.9% vs. 42.2%, p =0.09), whereas the HbA1c level was significantly higher in the high SAF group (Hb1c; 6.3±1.0 vs. 6.5±1.1, p =0.03).
