Early initiation of tecovirimat in the setting of severe disease may in fact lead to faster illness resolution, though the effect did not reach statistical significance in our study (−8.7 days; P = .11) due to small numbers in stratified groups and limited power, or potentially from tecovirimat slowing progression but not hastening resolution.
