Under the light microscope morphology, some cells on the dish showed a trend of endothelial–mesenchymal transition (EnMT) ( Fig. 4 D), accompanied by a decrease in ZO-1 and Na + /K + -ATPase expression ( Fig. 4 G), while the cells on the stiff and soft substrate still maintained a good endothelial cell morphology ( Fig. 4 D) and stable ZO-1 and Na + /K + -ATPase expression ( Fig. 4 G).
