During the four treatment cycles in the response group, lymphocyte subsets in patients receiving chemotherapy alone showed a trend of increasing counts first and then decreasing counts, whereas patients treated with combination immunotherapy showed an increase, followed by a maintenance of high lymphocyte counts.
