By contrast, the mean MoM values of cffDNA were somewhat different between the IUGR and the gestational diabetes groups, as well as between the preeclampsia and the preterm delivery groups ( 14 , 45-48 ); however, these differences did not reach statistical significance in the present study. cffDNA levels are increased throughout the course of normal pregnancy as well as in certain pathological conditions ( 6 , 49 ) making it hard to measure incremental differences.
