Proportional meta-analysis included 12 studies (n=14 250) in the LN arm 4 10 32 35 38 42 43 69 70 72 73 76 ( online supplemental material 9A ), and 19 studies (n=282 848) of patients with SLE in general 36 45 47 49 50 52 53 55–63 65 66 68 ( online supplemental material 9B ) showed numerically higher prevalence of DM than general patients with SLE, although the results did not reach statistical significance (pooled estimates: 10% (95% CI 6% to 16%) vs 5% (95% CI 3% to 10%), respectively; z=1.57, p=0.12).
