From 1995 to 2015, few respondents introduced ultrasound per year; however, from 2016, there was a marked trend of a gradual increase and more than half of the respondents (58.5%) introduced ultrasound into their practice in 2022 and 2023 This trend aligns with the emergence of research on standardizing ultrasound use for critical acupuncture points, reported in Korea in 2017, [ 7 ] and a surge in the publication of case series/reports utilizing ultrasound-guidance from 2019.
