The operation time of greater than 3 h and the presence of anaemia were also identified as potential risk factors, with operation time nearing significance ( p = 0.051) and anaemia demonstrating a significant association with PWIs ( p = 0.02).
Interestingly, while the length of hospital stays, body mass index and age showed variations between the infected and non‐infected groups, these did not reach statistical significance, suggesting that while these factors may influence the risk of infection, they are not as strongly predictive as the aforementioned factors.
