Given that hepatomegaly can be caused by various factors, including hepatic sinusoidal dilatation, high venous pressure and congestion, fat accumulation in liver cells and fibrosis, and glycogen distention of liver cells, early diagnosis, and identification of the primary causes of hepatomegaly are critical for disease treatment.[ 25 26 ] This study also found a significant trend for a larger liver size from mild to severe grade of fatty liver.
