However, the rates of exotropia found were significantly higher than general rates amongst Asian populations, and the odds ratio for constant exotropia in schizophrenia in Toyoto et al.’s study ( 2004 ) was highly significant; 20.6 (95% confidence interval, 5.03–56.2), highlighting a marked association between the two conditions within this cohort.
