The univariable MR estimates were nominally significant for the effect of genetically high IL-2ra (IVW β = 0.001; 95% CI, 8.7 × 10 − 6 to 0.002; P = 0.048) or IL-4 (IVW β = 0.003; 95% CI, 0.001 to 0.005; P = 0.003) or monokine induced by gamma interferon (MIG) (IVW β = 0.002; 95% CI, 0.0008 to 0.003; P = 0.001) or MIP1b (IVW β = 0.002; 95% CI, 0.0007 to 0.003; P = 0.003) with eGFRcrea, also indicating the protective role of these systemic inflammatory regulators on kidney function.
