Dienstknecht et al [ 22 ] used freshly frozen human pelvis to simulate an AO type C injury model (unilateral sacroiliac joint disruption combined with pubic symphysis displacement) to compare the pedicle screw construction, 2 sacroiliac screws and 2 ventral compression plates, and observed that differences in the 3-dimensional displacement did not reach statistical significance.
