The findings of our post hoc analyses suggested that despite an unfavorable prognosis, advanced ESCC patients with liver metastases had improved PFS with the addition of serplulimab to chemotherapy, whereas the tendency of OS prolongation did not reach statistical significance (median OS 13.7 months vs. 10.3 months, HR 0.68, 95% CI, 0.43–1.11), partly due to the limited number of patients with baseline liver metastases in this single study.
