Discussion In our review of 1372 propensity matched patients with T2DM presenting for elective, primary TJA, we found that the administration of DEX was associated with significantly increased POD 0, POD 1, and POD 2 mean and maximum blood glucose as well as increased odds of being hyperglycemic on POD 0, and the odds of being hyperglycemic on POD 1 approaching borderline significance.
