As shown, there was a visible increase in BAT UCP1 staining in the KD mice of both sexes, but this genotype effect did not reach statistical significance, likely due to insufficient power to detect differences (main effect of genotype, p = 0.1; observed power for the corrected model, 0.263; n = 5/group), females also tended to have greater BAT UCP1 staining ( p = 0.087) ( Figure 3 A).
